The VHC Quantitative Vitamin-D Test kit is an immunochromatography-based one step in vitro test. It is designed for the quantitative determination of total 25-hydroxy Vitamin D from a finger prick blood sample.
Upon purchasing the test kit, a healthcare practitioner needs to book an appointment with a qualified Nouveau Health product expert who will take the practitioner through each step and show them how to produce the correct results within 15 minutes.
Upon completion, you will receive a training certificate to provide to your insurer. A training manual and training video is also available.
Step 1. Take a finger prick sample and fill the capillary tube to the top with the blood. Add 5 drops of buffer solution to the UniSampler (Shown in picture 2)
Step 2. Place the capillary into the UniSampler and click together. Mix the blood sample with the buffer solution using energetic semicircle movements to push the blood from the capillary into the buffer until the blood sample in the capillary is distinctly lighter in colour than the mixture in the bottom of the UniSampler.
Step 3. Remove lid from UniSampler and add 3 drops of the sample mix to the inlet of the VHC Vitamin-D test strip. Place the adapter over the test strip and the VHC reader onto the adapter and turn on.
Step 4. When reader is "ON" hold down button for 2 seconds and tap the RFID card onto the VHC reader when the "RFID" is displayed. Then select "TEST" and the VHC Reader will countdown 15 minutes. The Vitamin D results will then be displayed as ng/ml and nmol/l and can be cross-referenced to the table below to determine the clients Vitamin D levels.
The sensitivity of VHC Vitamin-D Quantitative Vitamin D Test is 3ng/ml (7.5nmol/l). The sensitivity was determined by calculating the mean plus 3.3 times of standard deviation from twenty Vitamin D-free serum tests
What is the Specificity of the Vitamin D Test?
30 Vitamin D free serum samples were tested and all showed negative results; suggesting 100% specificity.
No interference and cross reactivity was observed with Bilirubin, Triglycerides, Cholesterol, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C.
Areas of Use | The VHC Reader allows a practitioner and client to see laboratory equivalent 25-OH Vitamin D results within 15 minutes. The results are displayed in ng/ml and nmol/l.
You can purchase more Vitamin D testing strips seperately. |

Directions for use | The test displays the results in ng/ml and in nmol/l allowing a health care practitioner to test their clients vitamin D levels in clinic. How to run the Vitamin D test in 4 easy steps:Step 1. Take a finger prick sample and fill the capillary tube to the top with the blood. Add 5 drops of buffer solution to the UniSampler (Shown in picture 2) Step 2. The Vitamin D results will then be displayed as ng/ml and nmol/l and can be compared to the table below to determine the clients Vitamin D levels.
